DeDe I. Berger, Owner and President of Dream Design Events LLC, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Covington Who’s Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes DeDe I. Berger’s commitment to excellence in Entertainment.
Earning her BA in International Relations at the Nagoya University of Commerce in Japan in 1979, DeDe I. Berger found herself working in human resources as an HR associate for Rhythm North America Corporation in Novi, Michigan from 1997-2006. Each year, she would budget and plan the company’s annual Christmas party, a task she found quite exhilarating. When her husband accepted a three-year foreign assignment to Bangkok, Thailand in 2006, Mrs. Berger had the opportunity as a guest lecture, introducing Japanese food, preparation, and plating for Thai students once per week at the Rajamangala University of Technology Krungthem in Bangkok. She lectured there for two years, from 2007-08.
Upon return back to the US, Mrs. Berger participated in an event planning internship for two consecutive summers, beginning in 2011, at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks in Fayetteville, Arkansas, where she got to experience 42 weddings. She enjoyed the experience so much that she immediately pursued a certification to become a certified international event and wedding planning professional through an online course of QC School of Event Planning. She completed her certification in 2013.
Now, as the proud owner and president of Dream Design Events LLC, Mrs. Berger plans engagement parties and weddings, anniversary parties, baby showers and bridal showers, birthday parties, corporate and non-profit events, holiday parties, or any other type of event her clients are in need of. Her unique ideas and planning abilities are limitless.
“”For example, every wedding couple has different ideas for weddings,” Mrs. Berger explained. “I like to spend time with them, mainly the bride and her bridesmaids, during their planning process. I focus on client service, with the aim of providing personalized attention throughout the planning process. I also encourage the groom to participate in the process as well.”
Enjoying the design and decorating aspect of planning an event the most, Mrs. Berger must create planning folders for each event, which will include timelines, budget sheets, and other related information. Relying on good communication and teamwork with each client, she must also coordinate efficiently with vendors, as they, too, are a major part of most of the events she is hosting.
A member of Wedding Industrial Organization, Small Business Network, Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce, and Rogers Chamber of Commerce, Mrs. Berger celebrated two years as a business owner on February 6, 2014. She looks forward to many more years of making clients’ dream events come true.
